Moose Jaw’s Ben Coakwell is heading back to the Winter Olympics for a third consecutive appearance as a brakeman with the Justin Kripps’ piloted four-person bobsleigh.
Coakwell, who recently tied the Canadian record for World Cup medals by a brakeman at 17, previously competed at the 2014 Sochi Games and 2018 PyeongChang Games where he finished 29th and 12th, respectively.
This time around, he and his teammates are looking not just for a podium finish, but to win the whole thing, as Coakwell told Sask Sport late last year.
In the sled, Coakwell will be joined by Kripps, Cam Stones and Ryan Sommer, while Humboldt’s Lyndon Rush will accompany the Canadian bobsleigh contingent as a coach.
