A message from the Chair of Sask Sport and Sask Lotteries
Following an incredible showing by Saskatchewan athletes at the Milano Cortina Olympic Games, including one gold and two silvers, our attention now moves to the Paralympians who will be taking their turn.
Saskatchewan will be represented at the Games in all six Paralympic winter sports by three athletes, two coaches and one support staff. With their mix of experience, all of them make us Sask Proud as they share their talents and skills on the world stage!
Congratulations to athletes Gilbert Dash, Brittany Hudak and Kurt Oatway, coaches Dean Seymour and Kaspar Wirz and support staff Stephanie Peppler.
Follow along with each athlete and coach through the daily Paralympic recaps and keep track of when everyone is competing by visiting the Schedule & Results page.
Each of these athletes and coaches have received funding through the Sask Lotteries which serves as the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport culture and recreation groups in Saskatchewan. Our unique, volunteer-led system creates an environment where athletes of all levels, including world-class competitors, can pursue their dreams. For Dash, Hudak and Oatway, that includes the Saskatchewan Program for Athletic Excellence, as well as other support throughout their athletic journeys.
On behalf of the Sask Sport Board of Directors, I congratulate each of these individuals on reaching their goals and wish them the best of luck as they compete on sport’s largest stage.
I encourage everyone to watch the Paralympics from March 6-15 and Cheer on Sask!
Sincerely,
Amy Prokop,
Chair of Sask Sport and Sask Lotteries
