Team Canada secured their first ticket to LA 2028 following the country’s performance at the 2026 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The Canadian women’s team earned their berth with a first-place finish over the United States and claimed their third world champion title.
Meanwhile, the men’s team—featuring Saskatoon assistant coach Joel Lipinski—claimed an overtime win against Mexico in the bronze medal game. Since the United States already qualified as the host nation for the Games, the top three finishers in the men’s tournament earned Olympic berths.
The official roster that will represent Canada at the Games is still to be determined.
