The Canadian Paralympic Committee announced that captain of the Canadian Para hockey team, Tyler McGregor and Para nordic skiing champion, Natalie Wilkie, will represent the country as Team Canada’s flag bearers for the 2026 Milano Cortina Paralympic Winter Games Opening Ceremony.
Making her third appearance, Wilkie has claimed seven Paralympic medals over two Games and is one of the world’s most successful Para nordic skiers. While three-time Paralympic medallist, McGreger will be helping lead his country into his fourth Games.
The Opening Ceremony will take place at the Arena di Verona in Verona, which is not located near the competition venue. With competition set to take place the following morning, Team Canada will not be attending the event and instead be celebrated in their respective Villages.
The Opening Ceremonies will take place Friday, March 6 at 12:30 p.m. Saskatchewan time and can be viewed on CBC.
